  12. This is a Windows Baseball Statistics Program that will keep track of many
  13. statisics for Leagues, Teams, Players, Hitting, Pitching, Running, Fielding,
  14. and for scheduling Games, Fields, and Umpires. You will be able to keep
  15. notes (up to 32K) on Leagues, Teams, Games, Fields, Umpires, and Players.

  17. if you downloaded or were given a zipped file (MBSnnn.ZIP), you must first
  18. unzip the file with PKUNZIP (or another unzip utility) before installing.
  19.  
  20. To install this Baseball Statistics program, run INSTALL.EXE while in
  21. Windows. It will create a windows program group (if you allow it to) that
  22. will contain an Uninstall Icon (besides the normal program icons) so that
  23. you can remove the program completely from Windows if you decide not to
  24. use it.

  26. This program can be used by the smallest little leagues all the way up
  27. to major league baseball. The first time you start the program, all the
  28. fields will be blank (unless a sample data file is included). First choose
  29. the Year button to specify what year you want to start with. Next select
  30. the League button to enter the league name(s), then use Team button for
  31. each league to set up team numbers and names. Finally, select the Player
  32. button to add players to the teams.

  34. The tabs at the bottom of the program window allow you to select Teams
  35. (where the team standings are displayed), Players, Hitting, Pitching,
  36. Fielding (where player statistics are displayed), Custom (choose the
  37. statistics you want to see for players), and Schedule (for scheduling
  38. games, fields, and umpires).

  40. The Update button allows you to enter or add to the data fields for teams,
  41. players, and the schedule. The Sort button allows you to sort players by
  42. different data fields. There is a separate sort for offensive, defensive,
  43. and pitching categories. Teams can't be sorted since they are displayed in
  44. standings format (win-lost record and games behind). Sorting the schedule
  45. also allows you to filter it by team or by umpire. That allows you to see
  46. just the games for one team or for one umpire.

  48. The Notes button allows you to enter notes for leagues, teams, players,
  49. fields, games, and umpires. You can use this for player addresses, phone
  50. numbers, etc. The Font button allows you to change the color, size, and
  51. type of font used for text. The Print button prints the current screen or
  52. notes. The Help button displays an About Box and a full help system. The
  53. Exit button quits the program.

  55. You can open and create additional statistic data files through the file
  56. menu. There is no limit to the number of files you can have. Also, through
  57. the file menu, files can be saved as different names and backed up to
  58. diskette for safe keeping.

  60. When you register this copy of MBS, you will receive a license for the use
  61. of the registered version of the software and your registration number.
  62. The most current version of the program will also be sent to you.

  64. Here are some of the suggestions already made for program enhancements:

  66. 1. Add the ability to open and close multiple data files and allow copying
  67.    (merging, importing & exporting) between files. This will allow many
  68.    people to keep track of their teams or leagues and have a way to put
  69.    them all together at a later date.

  71. 2. Display league leaders in different catagories (users choice).
  72.  
  73. 3. Add additional statistical fields (wild pitches, passed balls, etc.)
  74.  
  75. 4. Add titles and multiple true-type fonts to the printed reports.
